A teenager from Corner Brook won a national talent contest Saturday at the Ottawa Bluesfest.
Emma Peckford, 15, was named the winner of the emerging female artist competition She's the One.
Peckford was one of 10 young singers from across Canada entered in the contest.
She took home the top prize valued at $50,000, including a trip to Los Angeles, time with a music producer, the recording of a music video, a makeover, and a photo shoot.
Her next local performance will be at the Newfoundland and Labrador Folk Festival at Bowring Park in St. John's in August.
Peckford said previously that she entered the contest at the last minute, and hadn't expected to be chosen as a finalist.
