Ecstasy, weapons found in Carbonear
Two men stopped by police in Carbonear were scheduled to appear in provincial court Friday on drug and weapons charges.
Two men stopped by police in Carbonear, on Newfoundland's Conception Bay, were scheduled to appear in provincial court Friday on drug and weapons charges.
The RCMP said they arrested the men Thursday afternoon when the force checked a suspicious vehicle near the Carbonear mall.
Police said they found ecstasy, a nine-inch dagger and a piece of lumber with nails sticking out of one end.
Both men are charged with possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking.
One of them also is charged with having a dangerous weapon and resisting arrest.
The men were scheduled to appear in provincial court in Harbour Grace, near Carbonear, on Friday afternoon.
