Dwight Ball least favourite premier in Canada, poll says
Fewer than one-in-five people in Newfoundland and Labrador approve of Dwight Ball's job performance, according to the latest poll from the Angus Reid Institute.
- Dwight Ball 2nd most approved of premier in Canada
- Deficit reduction levy axed for incomes under $50K
Ball, who was the second most approved of premier in the country three months ago, is now sitting dead last.
His approval rating has plummeted by 43 points. That places Ball next to Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne, who's polling at 24 per cent.
"I am making decisions with the support of my cabinet and support of caucus in the best interest of the province," Ball said, when asked if the decision to change the deficit levy structure was a result of the negative poll result.
"I am not prepared to sell myself for political reasons."
The quarterly results are from a survey of more than 5,000 Canadian adults, 263 of whom were in this province.
The Canada-wide survey carries a margin of error of +/- 2%, 19 times out of 20.
