A dashcam captured a close call on Kenmount Road Monday morning, after a young calf was struck - or slipped - while crossing the road in traffic.

A young moose — and a couple of drivers — had a fright Monday morning, after a near miss on Kenmount Road that was captured on a dashcam video.

Vehicles were driving in both directions on Kenmount Road when three moose darted across the busy roadway at 11 a.m.

The third calf was lagging behind and appears to have been struck by a car. The moose did get up and ran away in the opposite direction as the rest of the animals.

The car involved in the possible accident drove away while the moose was still on the ground.

Daren Woodfine, who submitted the video, said he's not sure if the moose slipped or if it was hit, but says it demonstrates the need for drivers to be more cautious on the road.

The street was wet at the time of the incident.
