Count on N.L. Christmas mail: Canada Post
Canada Post says mail stuck in Nova Scotia because of poor weather will be delivered in Newfoundland and Labrador in time for the holidays.
"We will mean bringing in more people to work, extending over time, and adding more transportation to the network, but we will have those parcels delivered in time for Christmas," Canada Post spokeswoman Denise Corra said.
Mail trucks were held up in North Sydney, N.S. because high winds cancelled Marine Atlantic ferry service to southwestern Newfoundland for several days.
Corra said Canada Post will pick up the pace of mail deliver by sorting mail in the province at three locations instead of one.
Canada Post said the problems with the ferry service are not affecting delivery of parcels sent by express and priority post.
