Crews search area off RCAF Road in St. John's for Cortney Lake
Lake has been missing since June 7
A search for Cortney Lake was conducted this weekend off RCAF Road in St. John's.
About 40 searchers in two search teams — the Central Avalon Ground Search and Rescue team, and the Rovers Search and Rescue team — were on the scene from about 9 a.m. The RNC's forensic identification unit was also on site.
Lake was last seen June 7, just before 8 p.m., getting into a black pickup truck in Mount Pearl.
Sgt. Paul Didham of the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary wouldn't say if police had received new information that prompted the search.
"I can't really get into those details. That's a part of the investigation," he said.
"The investigative team certainly have that information, but we can't release any information as to what brought us here. It's a task that's basically been assigned for us to follow up on."
