In Newfoundland and Labrador more people than ever before are experiencing food insecurity. CBC N.L. will be facilitating conversations through a series called Fed Up that explores the issue from the perspective of single parents, rural residents, new Canadians, and Indigenous people.

In Newfoundland and Labrador, more people than ever before are experiencing food insecurity.
Join CBC N.L. as we partner with Food First NL — a not-for-profit that works to improve access to healthy, safe and culturally appropriate food — to bring you a four-part series that explores why so many in the province are struggling to put food on the table.
Together, we want to raise awareness about this important issue and encourage communities and leaders to engage in conversations that help inspire solutions.

- Ellie Jones - program director at THRIVE, a non-profit organization that provides a number of different programs and services for vulnerable people in our community.
- Elaine Balsom - executive director of the Single Parents Association of Newfoundland and Labrador.
- Heather Bartlett - executive director with Daybreak Parent Childcare Centre.
- Dara Squires - a single mom.
The coverage and conversation about single parents and food insecurity continues throughout February on CBC Radio, online and social media platforms.
Over the course of the year, CBC N.L. will be facilitating conversations that continue to look at this issue of food insecurity, highlighting perspectives of rural residents, new Canadians and Indigenous people.
