Cleary seeks nomination in N.L. riding

Long-time Newfoundland and Labrador journalist Ryan Cleary confirmed Friday he is jumping into federal politics.

Cleary announced that he will seek the NDP nomination for the riding of St. John's South-Mount Pearl.  

Most recently, Cleary was the editor-in-chief of The Independent, a St. John's-based weekly that closed earlier this year.  

NDP stalwart Fred Windsor is also considering a run at the nomination.
