Christmas too early? Costco aisle lined with holiday merchandise

It's Christmas time ... at least in Costco, which each year hauls out wrapping paper, bags and bows while shoppers are still purchasing sprinklers and summer toys.

It's Christmas time ... in Costco. Every year the wholesale retailer hauls out wrapping paper, bags and bows while shoppers are still purchasing sprinklers and summer toys.

There are still four months to go, but Costco already has its holiday items on display in one of its main aisles at its St. John's store.

And while the retailer must be successful selling the goods early, not everyone wants to see it yet.

"We certainly don't want to think about Christmas yet, with all the bad weather we had in July," said shopper Violet Hiscock.

According to shopper B.A. Vater, the early bird does get the worm, but in this case, Costco is putting out its Christmas merchandise too early.

"The early bird is also accused of always been picking away at being too early and making us too tired of it," Vater said.

"In my opinion, October is a fine time and enough."
