A funeral service was planned Monday afternoon for Reynolds, who died Thursday after battling cancer.

Reynolds was appointed chief electoral officer in 2007, leading into that year's election.
He was active for many years in provincial and municipal politics.
He was a former president of the provincial Progressive Conservative party.
He was also the mayor of the former town of Wedgewood Park, which amalgamated with St. John's in the early 1990s.
