Central Newfoundland snowmobilers repair trail bridge
Central Newfoundland snowmobilers are taking advantage of spring-like weather in the region to repair trail infrastructure.
Volunteers with the Exploits Valley Snowmobile Association replaced a bridge on a road near Grand Falls-Windsor.
"We took down an old bridge that was pretty rickety and we installed a new bridge capable of handling vehicles," said association president Dave Noel.
"Pickups, snowmobiles and ATV users now have complete access from New Bay, right in through Jumpers Brook Road. The Bay d'Espoir highway loop is complete now."
Noel said, if the lack of snow and warm weather continues, the group will replace signs and clear brush so trails will be easier to use when snow does begin to fall.
Temperatures in many of parts of Newfoundland have been over 0 C during the holiday period.
