Bikers arrested in downtown St. John's

A joint investigation by the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary and the RCMP led to the arrest of two bikers on Duckworth Street in St. John's on Friday.

A joint investigation by the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary and the RCMP led to arrests associated with a biker gang in downtown St. John's Friday.

Two men were arrested as part of an ongoing police investigation into multiple assaults involving outlaw motorcycle gangs.

The men, aged 32 and 50, were living in a house on Hamilton Avenue that was firebombed in late May. A car and a motorcycle were destroyed in the fire, and the house was heavily damaged.

Police would not say whether more arrests were coming.

"At this point, this is still an ongoing investigation and it would be inappropriate for me to speculate at this time as to whether or not there would be any (more) arrests," said RNC Const. Talia Murphy.

The men arrested Friday will appear in provincial court Saturday morning.
