Her brother, Ches Crosbie, was rejected by the Conservative Party of Canada as a candidate in the federal riding of Avalon.
Unlike the federal Conservatives, Premier Paul Davis said Beth Crosbie will be welcomed to his party.
"Beth Crosbie has become a business success in her own right and has done very, very well," Davis told reporters at an unrelated news conference Monday.
"Quite pleased to have her interested in our party and offering to run in the nomination race which is underway right now. She's going to be a great candidate."
Well-known defence lawyer Bob Buckingham is the NDP candidate in the district. St. John's Coun. Bernard Davis is running for the Liberals.
