St. John's-based pest-control company Orkin Canada has been called about the bug's presence. It will bring in trained sniffer dogs next week to make sure there aren't any more of them, or any presence of eggs.
The company said it is not concerned about the solitary critter. So far, there is no information on how the bug got into the building.
Earlier this week, an apartment building in the west end of St. John's made headlines when residents complained a bedbug infestation was turning their lives upside down.
The property owner said seven units were found to be infested with bedbugs.
