Animal cruelty charges laid after puppy stomped to death
The RCMP in Nain arrested a charged a man Sunday morning for animal cruelty charges and disturbing the peace after he was witnessed stomping on a puppy.
The RCMP in Nain arrested and charged a man Sunday morning for animal cruelty and disturbing the peace after he was witnessed stomping on a puppy.
Members of the RCMP saw the man, 24, stomp on the dog on Middlepath Road at roughly 3:30 a.m.
Police immediately arrested the man when spotted, but the dog had died from its injuries.
According to the RCMP, the man arrested is known to police and has been released from custody on a number of conditions.
He is slated to appear in provincial court on October 1.
The name of the charged has not been released.
