Checkpoints were set up over the holiday weekend to catch drivers who were impaired, aggressive, distracted, or not wearing seatbelts.
The majority of the tickets — 599 — issued were for speeding or aggressive driving.
RCMP said a unit on the west coast also seized twelve pounds of marijuana, along with a rental car, in a traffic stop over the weekend.
