16 for 16: What's your one word to describe Beaumont-Hamel?
Sometimes a single word can mean so much.
Sometimes just one word can mean so much.
CBC Newfoundland and Labrador has put out a call for the public to think about the province's experience in the First World War — in a single word.
"16 for 16" will be a part of CBC's broad coverage of the 100th anniversary of Beaumont-Hamel in July.
Beginning 16 days before July 1, CBC will reveal one word a day, collected from Newfoundlanders and Labradorians to reflect what the sacrifice of the battle meant to them.
