Tracadie home of Michel Vienneau, shooting victim, robbed
Estate lawyer says Michel Vienneau's home and garage robbed of several thousands of dollars
The home and garage of a Tracadie businessman, who was shot and killed by Bathurst police last winter, has been robbed "of all its contents," according to his estate lawyer.
"The loss is estimated at several thousands of dollars," he said.
The RCMP is investigating, said Wade, declining further comment, directing all questions to the RCMP.
RCMP Const. Jullie Rogers-Marsh declined to comment.
News of the robbery comes just days after Nova Scotia RCMP announced they had concluded their investigation into Vienneau, 51, being fatally shot by Bathurst police outside the Via Rail station on Jan. 21 "as part of an ongoing investigation."
Their findings have not yet been released.
Annick Basque, Vienneau's widow, previously told CBC News she and Vienneau had just returned from watching a hockey game in Montreal when they saw people running toward them with guns.
She said the plainclothes officers did not identify themselves. Vienneau tried to drive away and was shot, Basque said.
Vienneau, who owned an electronics store in Tracadie, was later pronounced dead at Chaleur Regional Hospital.
Court documents indicate Bathurst police were investigating drug trafficking.
An affidavit from Bathurst City Police Chief Eugene Poitras also suggests the possible involvement of organized crime.

- An earlier version of this story incorrectly stated that Annick Basque was the wife of Michel Vienneau. In fact, they were common law partners.Jul 23, 2015 6:27 PM AT
