New Brunswick's third case of the H1N1 Influenza A virus has been confirmed in a 20-year-old woman from the Moncton area.
Dr. Eilish Cleary, the province's chief medical officer of health, said in a statement that the third case was confirmed on Thursday night.
"The patient had recently returned from a trip to the United States. We remind New Brunswickers to continue to use preventative measures to help reduce the spread of the flu," the statement said.
This is the first confirmed case of the H1N1 virus, commonly known as swine flu, in New Brunswick since May 4.
The three New Brunswick cases have not required hospitalization and the health department said the affected individuals have recovered or are recovering.
