NB Power gets more than 1,000 customers back online
NB Power has restored electricity to 1,000 more of its customers, leaving about 3,500 still without power Saturday afternoon.

NB Power has restored electricity to 1,000 more of its customers, leaving about 3,500 still without power Saturday afternoon.
A snowstorm overnight Thursday knocked out power to several areas of the province.

Most of the areas affected are located just south or east of Fredericton. There are also a few hundred still in the dark in the Sackville area
The outages hit a peak of about 30,000 Friday night.
The storm also forced school closures and created slippery driving conditions that led to a number of accidents.
Nine crews were dispatched to P.E.I. Friday to help restore power to Maritime Electric customers in that province. As of 9 a.m. Saturday morning, there were still more than 6,000 customers without electricity on the Island.
