A New Brunswick woman is celebrating her birthday along with a spot in the Guinness World Record books.

Marie-Louise Hébert is officially the oldest person in the world living with dwarfism. She was honoured Saturday in Saint-Louis-de-Kent with a certificate marking her feat.

Doctors predicted she would live to be in her forties. She is now 86.

"In her mind, she is seven or eight years old. She likes to play with dolls, dancing, listening to music, colouring. She loves to do what a child likes to do," says Anne-Marie Robichaud, who has been taking care of her aunt for 20 years.

But no one anticipated she would be turning 86 next month. The last record holder was an 84-year-old man living in England.

The official certificate arrived in the mail a few days ago. Hébert may not understand the meaning of the document, but the recognition is welcomed with pride by her family and her community.

"She has no stress. No stress. She has black hair and is 86 years old," said Robichaud.
