N.B. COVID-19 roundup: 1 death in Grand Falls, 6 new cases
Province records 37th death from COVID-19
New Brunswick is reporting its 37th death related to COVID-19 on Sunday.
The person was in their 80s and resided at Pavillon Beau-Lieu, a special care home in Grand Falls. The person died in the hospital.
The care home is experiencing an outbreak of the illness, involving the variant first reported in South Africa.
Public Health is also reporting six new cases of the illness and 137 total active cases. There are five people in the hospital, including two in intensive care.
The new cases break down as follows:
In the Moncton region (Zone 1), there is one new case:

A person in their 20s.
Public Health said the case is under investigation.
In the Saint John region (Zone 2), there is one new case:

A person in their 40s.
The case is a close contact of a previous case.
In the Edmundston region (Zone 4), there are three new cases:

Two people in their 40s.

A person in their 50s.
All three people are close contacts of previous cases, according to Public Health.
New Brunswick has confirmed 1,939 total cases of COVID-19, including 1,765 recoveries.
Public Health has conducted 294,483 tests, including 3,123 on Saturday.
New possible exposures
Public Health has identified several possible exposures to COVID-19 in the Kedgwick, Saint-Quentin and Moncton regions.
Saint-Quentin and Kedgwick area:
- Legresley Esso, 15 Notre-Dame Rd, Kedgwick on Tuesday, April 27 between noon and 12:30 p.m.; on Friday, April 30 between 5 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.; and on Saturday, May 1 between 11:30 a.m. and noon.
- Irving, 272 Canada Rd., Saint-Quentin, on Wednesday, April 28 between noon and 12:30 p.m.
- Bonichoix, 4 Camille Rd., Kedgwick on Wednesday, April 28 between 8 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.; on Thursday, April 29 between 11 a.m. and noon; and on Saturday, May 1 between 1:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m.
- Familiprix, 116A Notre Dame Rd., Kedgwick on Thursday, April 29 between 11:15 a.m. and 11:45 a.m.
- Boutique du Dollar 12345, 116B Notre-Dame Rd., Kedgwick on Saturday, May 1 between 11:30 a.m. and noon.
- Ameublement Milix, 344 Canada Rd., Saint-Quentin, on Saturday, May 1 between 12:30 p.m. and 1 p.m.
- Rossy, 344 Canada Rd. Unit K, Saint-Quentin, on Saturday, May 1 between noon and 12:30 p.m.
Moncton region:
- Shoppers Drug Mart, 320 Elmwood Dr., Moncton on Thursday, April 29, between 4 p.m. and 4:30 p.m.
- Papa John's Pizza, 555 Dieppe Blvd., Dieppe on Thursday, April 29, between 5 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.
Flight exposures:
- Air Canada Flight 396 – from Calgary to Montreal, departed at 1:05 a.m.
- Air Canada Flight 8898 – from Montreal to Moncton, departed at 8:24 a.m.

People concerned they might have COVID-19 symptoms can take a self-assessment test online.
Public Health says symptoms shown by people with COVID-19 have included:

Fever above 38 C.

New cough or worsening chronic cough.

Sore throat.

Runny nose.

Headache.

New onset of fatigue, muscle pain, diarrhea, loss of sense of taste or smell.

Difficulty breathing.
In children, symptoms have also included purple markings on the fingers and toes.
