Students and staff at six New Brunswick Community College campuses jumped on the Happy bandwagon this week by releasing their own dance video inspired by the hit Pharrell Williams song.
The infectiously upbeat song has been a worldwide hit, reaching number 1 in Canada, the United States, United Kingdom, Australia, Ireland, New Zealand and 18 other countries.
The song has spawned thousands of tribute videos of incredibly happy-looking people from around the world.
Luke Bailey, a social media journalist with the New Brunswick Community College, said the college’s recruitment team were in a brainstorming session and the idea to create their own Happy video came up.
Bailey travelled to all six NBCC campuses in the province last week and recorded students and staff dancing — and being happy.
"Some people were a little resistant but for the most part, most people were very enthusiastic about it," he said.
"The NBCC students and staff at all the campuses came together and shared their spirit as one college."
The entire video was shot last week and edited over the weekend, Bailey said.
