Jami Springer's family, friends worry about missing woman
27-year-old Moncton woman was last seen more than a week ago walking on McLaughlin Drive
Family and friends are growing increasingly worried for a 27-year-old Moncton woman who has been missing for more than a week.
Jami Springer was last seen walking on Moncton's McLaughlin Drive on the afternoon of Aug. 31, according to police.
One friend said he saw her downtown a few days ago, near the corner of St. George and Lutz streets.
"I mentioned how I barely noticed her with her long hair and she laughed. [I] said she should stop by once in a blue moon and she said she would and [we] went our separate ways," said Raven.
Raven said Springer seemed fine and he didn't make much of the encounter. But he has grown worried since.
"Jami lived an odd life. I've never heard of her gone for so long. She would be on Facebook or be seen by now. Sometimes people just up and leave, I also wonder if she did that."
Run-ins with law
Jami Springer has had run-ins with the law. She faced serious charges, along with four men, in connection with the violent beating of a another man in Moncton in February of last year.
The charges included kidnapping, aggravated assault, use of a firearm and having her face masked. Those charges, however, were all dropped in November 2015.
Springer had another encounter with the justice system just over three months ago. She was stopped for driving a car that had a licence plate that belonged to someone else. She pleaded guilty to obstruction of justice in that case.
"Jami, if you are aware of your family's concerns and are able to make contact, please reach out to us. Your family and daughter love you," wrote Brent Springer.
Her mother, Gillian Fletcher, also posted Thursday.
"It is the morning of Sept. 8, and our daughter, Jami Springer is still missing. If you have seen her or know anything about her please contact our family," wrote Gillian Fletcher.
"Jami please just come home wherever you are. I love you. I'm lost without you," wrote Justin Smith, who is listed in a relationship with Springer on Facebook.
Police are working on some leads, but have not been able to find Springer. They are asking anyone with information to contact the Codiac Regional RCMP.
