Man, 77, dies in 2-vehicle crash near Sackville

A 77-year-old man from Midgic, N.B., died Friday in a two-vehicle crash in Upper Sackville, New Brunswick RCMP say.

Police along with the Sackville Fire Department, Ambulance New Brunswick, the Department of Transportation and Department of Justice responded to reports of a crash around 11:30 a.m.

Route 940 in Upper Sackville between Forks Road and White Birch Road was closed for several hours.

RCMP say the first vehicle was travelling north when it crossed the centre line and collided with a vehicle travelling in the opposite direction.

The driver and only person in the first vehicle died at the scene. The driver and an occupant in the second vehicle were taken to hospital with minor injuries.

An investigation is underway.
