Thirty-year-old Brandon Brewer is aiming for a world championship title and a promotions company of his own

Fredericton native Brandon Brewer is the Canadian light middleweight champion and has set his sights on a world championship title in boxing and his own promotions company.

"My goal is to start my own promotion company right here in Fredericton," he said. "We will start small at the Willie O'Ree or exhibition grounds or a smaller venue, but inside two or three years my goal is to sell out the Aitken
Centre."

In his four-year career as a pro, Brewer has a record of 12 wins and one draw in a total of 13 fights.

He's fought in Moncton and Shediac, but wants to start promoting his fights at home.

"Me being a local boy and we're doing extremely well, I think it's a good opportunity for the people in New Brunswick to get excited about something."

His next fight is July 25 in Halifax and Aug. 11 in Toronto. Brewer has to win the fights to keep his name in the running for a North American title and then a world championship title.
