Former N.B. priest gets hearing on sex charge

A preliminary hearing will be held in August for a priest who served in Dalhousie N.B., charged with indecent assault against a male victim.
Charles Picot, who is in his 60s, appeared in provincial court today in Campbellton, as two of his sisters looked on.
Picot is charged with one count of indecent assault against a male victim who was a teenager at the time, in 1978, while Picot was a priest in Dalhousie.
Picot left the Diocese of Bathurst in 1993.
He is now a non-practising priest living in Montreal.
