Jury deliberations at Dennis Oland's murder trial into Day 4
Closed-door discussions resumed at Saint John courthouse at 9 a.m. in bid to reach unanimous verdict
The jury at Dennis Oland's second-degree murder trial in Saint John is holed up for a fourth day of deliberations at the Saint John Law Courts building today.
The eight men and four women reconvened at 9 a.m. AT after putting in an 11½-hour day Friday without reaching a verdict.
Their decision must be unanimous.
Oland, 47, is accused in the bludgeoning death of his father, prominent New Brunswick businessman Richard Oland more than four years ago.
His only son, Dennis Oland, was the last known person to see him alive during a meeting at his office the night before, where they discussed family genealogy.
The trial started on Sept. 16, making it one of the longest criminal trials in New Brunswick history.
The jury will remain sequestered until they reach a verdict, or announce an impasse.
