Annual events in Dieppe, Saint John and Fredericton support local food banks
Thanks to the generosity of New Brunswickers, over $54,000 was raised for N.B. food banks during the 15th annual David Myles Singing for Supper concert tour.
- Dieppe: $6,240 was raised at Place Champlain Place
- Saint John: $22,022 was raised in Brunswick Square, marking the single biggest day of giving
- Fredericton: $21,094 was raised at King's Place. Note: an additional $4,808 was donated in Fredericton following the concert and dedicated to this campaign.
To-date, the Singing for Supper series has raised $234,165 for New Brunswick food banks.
As in previous years, the free events took place in Dieppe, Fredericton and Saint John featuring live performances of festive seasonal favourites and Myles' original songs. Volunteers collected food and cash donations, and a portion of David Myles merchandise sales was donated to food banks in each city.
You can still give
The number of people relying on food banks is higher than ever, and the need is even greater during the holidays. Until December 31, you can still help make the season kind for New Brunswick families in need. All it takes is one can, one dollar or one hour of your time.
