The RCMP says it has handed over its file to Crown prosecutors regarding its investigation into the deaths of brothers Connor Barthe, 6, and Noah, 4.
The investigation commenced Aug. 5, 2013 after an African rock python asphyxiated the boys.
Jean-Claude Savoie, the owner of Reptile Ocean pet store, situated below the apartment where the boys had been killed, has not been charged in relation to their deaths but was a subject of a criminal investigation.
The store was an unlicensed zoo and pet store, according to the Department of Natural Resources.
CBC News is seeking comment from the Crown and Savoie's lawyer.
