Bathurst moms renew call to ban 15-seat vans

Two New Brunswick mothers whose sons were killed in a 15-passenger van crash say the collision in Ontario that killed 11 shows that the vehicles should not be on the road.

Isabelle Hains and Ana Acevedo issued a statement Tuesday saying the vans don't protect passengers because they aren't designed to carry people.

Seven members of the Bathurst High School boys basketball team and the wife of their coach were killed four years ago when their van hit a transport truck on an icy highway in New Brunswick.

Yesterday's crash that claimed the lives of 10 migrant workers and the driver of a flatbed truck happened near Hampstead, Ont.
