Man, 82, charged in death of 90-year-old wife in Vaudreuil seniors residence

Officers discovered the woman dead in her apartment Wednesday. The 82-year-old man was also found on the scene with injuries.

An 82-year-old man has been charged with second-degree murder, after his 90-year-old wife was found dead in a seniors' residence in Vaudreuil-Dorion Wednesday.

According to the Sûreté du Québec (SQ), police were called at 1 p.m. Wednesday to check the residence, located on de la Gare Boulevard. 

Officers entered the apartment where the couple lived together and discovered the woman dead in the home.

The 82-year-old man was injured when police found him at the scene. Authorities believe there was a struggle and say the accused may have tried to take his own life.
