The University of Quebec in Montreal has obtained a court injunction to guarantee access to its facilities during a strike by student employees.

Teaching assistants and researchers at UQAM blocked the doors of several pavilions Monday and Tuesday.

The temporary injunction is in effect for 10 days, until Dec. 18.

The union SÉTUE represents close to 3,000 teaching assistants and researchers across the university campus.

Students employees say they will continue to demonstrate until they are back at the negotiating table with UQAM.

The teaching assistants have been without a contract since the end of 2013.
