Turcot Interchange work to close road linking Westmount and St-Henri

The stretch of de Courcelle/Glen between Ste-Catherine Street W. and Saint-Antoine will be closed to traffic from Nov. 23 to mid-January.

Road linking Westmount and St-Henri to be closed until mid-January

The main road linking Westmount and St-Henri will be closed for the next two months as 300 metre section of Glen Road and de Courcelle Street will remain closed as work crews make changes required for the massive Turcotte Interchange rebuild.

The stretch of de Courcelle/Glen between Ste-Catherine Street W. and Saint-Antoine will be closed to traffic from Nov. 23 to mid-January.

Traffic will be detoured 750 metres west to Decarie, adding more vehicles to the already-congested stretch of road adjacent to the MUHC. The other detour, on Atwater, is two kilometres to the east.

One sidewalk will remain open to allow pedestrians and cyclists to continue taking the closed Glen Road.

Local traffic will be permitted to access de Courcelle south of Highway 720 and Glen Road north of the 720 to Ste-Catherine.

The segment of de Courcelle Street between Saint-Antoine Street West and Notre-Dame West has already been closed since the end of June.

The Turcot Interchange remake is set to cost around $3.7 billion and is scheduled for completion in 2020.
