A 61-year-old man was pronounced dead in hospital after he was shot in Montreal's Glenmount neighbourhood this morning.

Montreal police say the man was inside his car, parked in front of his home on Roquancourt Street around 9:20 a.m. when he was shot "several times in the upper body," Montreal police spokesperson Const. Manuel Couture said.

The man had been taken to hospital in critical condition.

A man in dark clothing was seen leaving the scene, investigators say.

Police said Friday afternoon that no arrests had been made and the major crimes unit was at the scene.

This is the sixth homicide on the SPVM's territory this year.
