Quebec provincial police are investigating a suspicious fire that destroyed one building and heavily damaged several others in the Lanaudière region overnight.
The fire started around midnight behind a store on Prinicipale Street in Saint-Roch-de-l'Achigan, Que., about 25 kilometres north of Laval, and then spread to four neighbouring buildings, some residential.
Crews from Terrebonne and Repentigny were called in to help extinguish the fire.
A witness reported seeing someone leaving the scene shortly after an explosion was heard, police say. So far police have no suspects. No one was hurt.
