Sabrine Djermane and El Mahdi Jamali, two Montrealers facing terrorism-related charges, have been denied bail.

Quebec Court Judge Robert Sansfaçon ruled Tuesday afternoon that the two could be a danger to the public and a potential flight risk.

Djermane, 19, and Jamali, 18, each face four charges — attempting to leave Canada to commit a terror act abroad, possession of an explosive substance, facilitating a terrorist act, and committing an act under the direction or for the profit of a terrorist organization.

The two, both students at College de Maisonneuve — a Montreal junior college — were arrested in April. Their arrests were described by the Crown as a "preventive measure.'' Prosecutors wanted them to sign peace bonds that would set out conditions and restrictions on their day-to-day lives.
