This week, Montreal officially welcomed a new addition to its skyline. The rings atop the new Olympic House are a visual reminder of the city's place in Olympic history.

While she was just a child at the time, CBC News Montreal anchor Debra Arbec remembers it well. Her family hosted a number of soviet athletes during the games, including the larger-than-life weightlifter Vasili Alexeev.
