More than 1 million Quebecers cast advance vote ballots
1,057,706 have voted after second day
More than a million Quebecers have already voted in the advance polls for the April 7 elections.
At the end of the second day of voting, the Chief Electoral Officer said 1,057,706 people had cast their ballots.
This represents 17.68 per cent of registered voters, unless there is a special revision to the electorate list.
On the second day of advance polls in 2012, 919,120 — or 15.57 per cent — of people on the registration list had voted.
Advance polling ballots will be counted on election night.
Electors can vote with the returning officer in their riding from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. today and Wednesday.
Polling stations will close at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday.
Voting will also continue in all the universities, CEGEPs, colleges and vocational training centres with at least 300 eligible students.
A table showing the turnout rate for each electoral division of Quebec will be available at http://monvote.qc.ca/fr/taux_participation.asp.
