It's International Workers' Day and Quebec's minimum wage is getting a boost on the occasion.
Minimum wage is going up 20 cents, to $10.75 an hour. That works out to an increase of $8 over a 40-hour work week.
But many unions and labour groups say the increase is not enough.
The Quebec Federation of Labour is among dozens of organizations calling for the minimum wage to be bumped up to $15 an hour.
That demand is likely to be expressed in the annual May Day demonstrations scheduled to be held across the province on Sunday.
British Columbia has the lowest minimum wage in Canada at $10.45 an hour. Workers in Nunavut benefit from the highest, at $13 an hour.
