The vaccine against the coronavirus has arrived.

The Maimonides Geriatric Centre in Côte Saint-Luc and the Saint-Antoine CHSLD in Quebec City are the first two long-term care facilities in Quebec to receive the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine.

The vaccine comes as the number of daily cases and hospitalizations continues to rise. Quebec reported 1,898 cases on Saturday and another 1,994 on Sunday.

Premier François Legault is expected to announce new restrictions Tuesday in attempt to reverse that trend.

Of the 30,000 doses arriving in Canada in the coming days, Quebec is expecting about 4,000.
