Pratt & Whitney, the aircraft engine manufacturer, says it will invest $275 million in its Longueuil plant over the next five years.

The company says the money will be used to build three new high-tech production lines and will create 90 jobs.

Quebec Premier Pauline Marois announced the province will invest an additional $19 million.

President and CEO of Pratt & Whitney Canada, John Saabas, said the investment will be used to construct an $80 million production centre to manufacture parts for the company's "PurePower" engine, fitted in the new Bombardier CSeries aircraft.

The other $195 million will be used to modernize the facility and improve operational efficiency to minimize the company's carbon footprint.
