Hydro-Québec says power has been restored to customers after an incident at the La Verendrye substation knocked out two power lines, depriving 115,000 of electricity.
Outages leave 115,000 without power in Montreal, Laurentians
Hydro-Québec says power has been restored to all customers after a series of outages Thursday afternoon.
At the peak of the problem, power was knocked out to 115,000 customers in Montreal, on Montreal's South Shore and across the Laurentians.
"We know that the incident happened near our La Verendrye substation in the Laurentians," said Hydro-Québec spokeswoman Ariane Connor late Thursday afternoon. "It affected two of our power lines. These two power lines were put back into service rather quickly, and we're hoping that the incident will be resolved very soon."
The sporadic outages caused some traffic tie-ups as lights weren't working at many intersections. There have been no other reports of major problems.
