Star defenceman makes 'biggest philanthropic commitment by a sports figure in Canadian history'
P.K. Subban's $10-million donation to the Montreal Children's Hospital has revived debate about who should be the Habs' next captain, with some suggesting the move is proof the star defenceman is ready to lead the team.
General manager Marc Bergevin announced last week the Habs would name a captain by the end of training camp, ending the committee system used last season.

Last season, Tomas Plekanec and Andrei Markov served as alternate captains, while Max Pacioretty and Subban shared the third A.
On Twitter, some argued the donation shows Subban is prepared to be a leader on and off the ice.
If there was any doubt, it was removed today. PK Subban should be the captain of the Montreal Canadiens.
