Pedestrian hit in Parc Ave. collision now in stable condition, SPVM says

Montreal police say a pedestrian who was in critical condition after being struck by a car in the Plateau–Mont-Royal borough is now in stable condition.

The woman, 51, was crossing Parc Avenue in an unknown direction between St. Viateur and Bernard streets when she was hit by a northbound car at approximately 9:05 p.m., according to witnesses. 

The woman, who was crossing the street at a pedestrian crosswalk, was projected to the ground.

The driver, a 42-year-old-man, immediately stopped his vehicle.

Police say no arrests have been made and alcohol does not seem to be the cause of the incident. 

The woman was taken to the hospital where police say her life was initially in danger.

Police say the woman is now in stable condition.

Investigators are at the scene to determine the cause of the collision.

Montreal police have established a security perimeter on Parc Avenue between St. Viateur and Bernard streets.
