Charles Hamelin and Marianne St-Gelais took time out of their speed-skating training schedule to strut the catwalk for charity Wednesday night.

They participated in the fashion show at Ogilvy-en-fête, an annual fundraiser for the Sainte-Justine children's Hospital.

"Doing things for kids is a cause that touched me and Marianne a lot. For us it's something that is coming from the heart," said three-time Olympic gold medallist Charles Hamelin.

The pair are used to performing in high pressure situations on the speed-skating track but admitted that fashion runway presented a whole new challenge.

"I'm a little bit nervous because of these high heels," St-Gelais said.

But they didn't come entirely unprepared. "Just before we came here we watched Zoolander, so I think were ready for it," Hamelin quipped.

Ogilvy's vice-president of marketing Steeve Lapierre says he expects to raise more than $300,000 from the event.
