Snow removal trucks are back on the streets of Montreal as of early Saturday morning.

The massive cleanup comes after the snowstorm that dumped 39 centimetres on the city, a record for Dec. 29.

Blue-collar workers had a break from New Year's Eve until Saturday morning as part of the holidays. Snow removal continues today as of 7 a.m. across Montreal.

Major arteries, reserved bus lanes and hospital entrances are amongst the priorities for snow clearance.

Crews have completed about 28 per cent of snow removal operations as of Saturday morning.

The cleanup is expected to cost nearly $20 million, out of the city's total snow clearing budget of $159 million.
