Montreal's week-long Pride festival kicks off today.

The 10th edition of the annual LGBTQ festival, billed as the "largest in the francophone world," features more than 125 activities and events and is expected to draw hundreds of thousands of participants.

This year's festival schedule includes concerts, comedy shows, DJ sets, panel discussions, sporting events and art exhibitions.

The festival culminates on next Sunday with the Pride Parade, which organizers are touting as "more flamboyant than ever."

This year's parade is inspired by the colour green in the rainbow flag, which organizers call "a symbol of life, nature, rebirth, prosperity, chance and hope."

The parade begins Sunday at 1 p.m.
