The City of Montreal unveiled its new plan to tackle the challenges of climate change between now and 2020.

The plan lists 24 measures that Montreal will take to grapple with rising temperatures, damaging storms, heavy rains, floods and heat waves.

Those measures include increasing the resiliency of existing infrastructure and coming up with an emergency response plan in case of a deluge.

The five-year plan also includes measures for stabilizing shorelines during floods and ensuring accessible and clean water during droughts.

There is to be a review of the plan and how well it has been implemented in 2017-2018.
