Montrealers and people living elsewhere in southern Quebec are digging their way out after nearly 27 centimetres fell on the region over late Tuesday and on Wednesday.

The city is asking car owners to pay close attention to the parking signs in their neighbourhoods to make way for the snowplows.

A new website for Montreal's snowplow operations answers questions residents may have about how the snow has affected their local services.

Montreal has also developed an app for iPhone and Android phones called Info Neige MTL, with snow removal information currently available for five boroughs:

  • Ahuntsic-Cartierville
  • Côte-des-Neiges—Notre-Dame-de-Grâce
  • Mercier—Hochelaga-Maisonneuve
  • Ville-Marie
  • Villeray–Saint-Michel–Parc-Extension
